The first beer to ever be brewed in Borgorose is still the most loved and appreciated. Inspired by traditional British India Pale Ales it has intense aromas given by American aromatic hops. Amber in color, it has a medium body, the aromas are clearly of citrus fruits and peppery. Carbonation is slightly low as traditional to its style. The mouthfeel leads to a persistent and intense bitterness.

(Bottle) Clear golden brown with good dense off-white head. Fantastic aroma of grapefruit with hints of stone-fruit and spice. Medium body with good carbonation. Taste is definitely APA, but with quite a lot more fruitiness and sweetness up front. Stone-fruit and quite sweet toffee malt at the start develops tangy and spicy notes which progress to an assertive but not overwhelming bitter finish. A good take on an APA.

Bottle. Amber with a slight, off-white head and touch of carbonation. Hedgerow hops, marmalade sweetness, biscuity malts and a moderately bitter finish with a touch of warming alcohol. Good.

From a 750ml bottle on 3/3/2014. Pours a very dark golden/light amber with a medium head. Has a light spicy, fruity, yeasty aroma. In the mouth, it’s much more intense - you lot’s of caramel and bready malt, sweet citrus and stone fruit (orange, apricot), and a lovely tangy, spicy, hoppy bitterness. Has a thick, almost creamy palate with medium to lively carbonation. It is a bit hard to pigeon hole style wise, but a hoppy APA wouldn’t be far off the mark. Another damn fine beer from this brewer.

Tap at Open Baladin, Roma, 23/06/13. Hazed dark amber with a decent size light beige head. Nose is malt forward, caramel malt, fruits, light hop notes. Taste follows. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, bitter notes in the finale. Ok APA - a bit over malty and not quite hoppy enough for my taste.
