Released the same year as Viaemilia at the end of March 2007, A.F.O. was our second creation. The history of this beer dates back to when Giovanni Campari, brewmaster and founder of the brewery, first came into contact with the new and irresistible character of American hops. Back home, he decided to make the Ale of his dreams, which expressed a complex bouquet, fascinating but never usual. He traveled between England and Germany, visiting hop growers and experimenting, carrying out a research into the olfactory territory of hops which finally materialized in the current A.F.O.

33 cl "cool" bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.4%. Also available at Vinmonopolet. Deep orange to brown colour, big off-white head. Some floaties from the sediment in the bottle. Lovely aroma of fruity American hops, notes of citrus. The flavour is distinctly hoppy with grapefruity notes, resin the finish. Some caramel malts too, fairly well balanced. Bitter aftertaste.

7th August 2008. Well balanced - malty and a little hoppy. Finishes with fruity dryness. Unremarkable but good. 3 2nd December 2008. Cloudy amber beer - mild head. Quite a malty start followed by pleasing deep rich grapefruity hops. A little bitterness in the finish but that’s a good thing.

Flaske 0,33l som Rune hadde med til Sankthansfeiring 2009. Pen flaske. Gyldenbrun på farge. Uklar. KI=5

Compact and nice 330ml bottle shared at a drinking session at Finns. One-finger, beige head resting all the way on top of an opaque, amber body. Lightly spiced aroma overlaid by chocolate malts. Rather exciting taste character containing dark fruits, earthy malts, cocoa and a touch of anise. Spiced hop bitterness in the aftermath. Medium bodied. Has definitely got some very bright moments. Thanks to Skinnyviking for the bottle (Tromsø, 23.06.2009).

A dark golden pale ale with a thin off white head. Aroma of caramel, strawberries and light german hops. In mouth, a grassy biscuitty malt, with herbal hops, very nice and quaffable, some peppery notes in finale. Mondiale 2009, June 5 2009.

Cloudy. Light brown color and tall head. Light hop aroma. Hop flavor, and moderate malt, but too many different kinds of hops.
