The original Cisk Lager Beer is a golden-coloured, bottom-fermented lager with a distinctive and well-balanced character. Its rich hop aroma and pleasant bitterness has made it the natural choice and thirst quencher for beer drinkers who want to savour the original brew which has remained faithful to its recipe of 1929.

Recipient of a number of international awards since its launch in 1929, Cisk Lager Beer is popular any time of the year and consumed across the Maltese Islands, holding a strong presence at Malta’s traditional social band clubs, known as ”kazini”. On a hot summer day, it is best enjoyed chilled by the sea with friends. Just add a barbecue banquet or a selection of fresh shellfish and Cisk will be the perfect companion.

Can, 0.33l, courtesy of Tomaz. Clear pale golden color with medium creamy white head, good lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of malt, wheat, grassy hops and honey. Taste starts with light sweet malt, follows refreshing grainy with some fruity notes like citrus and pineapple, while finish is moderate bitter. Light body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Surprisingly good pale lager with pleasant bitterness, almost like in German pilsners, but much more quaffable...

Thanks to kevnic2008 for that can. Looks simple but okay. Beer in the glass zippy, huge head. Starts mild, malty, modest dry. Moldy background. Okay, but nothing special.

This Maltese lager pours a completely clear golden color, topped with at least two finger of white foamy head with short retention. The aroma is mild, just some hopps and perhaps a little grains. The taste naturally follows the nose - light, slightly watery, with initial sweetness, but lacking a bit of that bitterness in the end. Not much to it, could be better, but it’s damn good on one of Malta’s sunny beaches.

330 ml can. Clear pale yellow body with a small white head. Light aroma of pale malt, grain and hint of grass. Flavor is soft, light malt with low bitterness. Medium body and short aftertaste. There is really not much going on here, but it feels really refreshing with a pure flavor and no faults. A decent thirst-quencher on a hot summer day I believe.

At the maltesers Maha restaurant. To the half Maltese wifes surprise a tidy effort. More pilsener than pale lager.

Sampled from bottle @ The Hague tasting. Clear yellow color, medium to full sized quickly diminishing white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, slightly a citrus touch, some bitterness. Actually better than I had expected.

Can brought back from Malta by a friend. Light golden colour, with a small white head. Aroma of malt and maize. Quite sweet, thin texture, rather metallic, perhaps suffering from canning and maybe better bottled/draft. 10/7/2018. Draft at The Oasis bar at the Corinthia hotel, Malta. Similar to before, though with more body and with light floral and fruity notes. Bit better as draft.
