The original Cisk Lager Beer is a golden-coloured, bottom-fermented lager with a distinctive and well-balanced character. Its rich hop aroma and pleasant bitterness has made it the natural choice and thirst quencher for beer drinkers who want to savour the original brew which has remained faithful to its recipe of 1929.
Recipient of a number of international awards since its launch in 1929, Cisk Lager Beer is popular any time of the year and consumed across the Maltese Islands, holding a strong presence at Malta’s traditional social band clubs, known as ”kazini”. On a hot summer day, it is best enjoyed chilled by the sea with friends. Just add a barbecue banquet or a selection of fresh shellfish and Cisk will be the perfect companion.

Clear, light golden beer with smaller than medium head, which disappears very quickly. Aroma has yeast, grain and some grass with metallic feeling. Taste has grain, yeast and some stale feeling. Basic lager, not good.

Can, courtesy of andrewje (thanks a lot, Andrew), pours a clear pale golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out tons of skunky grassy notes, herbaland cabbage notes. Flavour is similar, with lots of skunky notes, grass and corn. Clean enough but super skunky. Typical shitty Euro lager.

Shared 330ml can with Mat (cheers minutemat) on 7th Sep 2016. Had this on tap in Malta a few times (many years ago), so half knew what to expect: a semi-decent Med Lager. Golden, clean and clear, short lived white head. Fairly sweet throughout, grainy/corny and not unpleasant. Hot weather beer. Scored objectively.

330ml can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Sep 16, courtesy of myself. Bought from Discount Supermarket, Cardiff. Pours clear gold, thin white head. Sweetcorn aroma. Taste is highly oxidised with tired malts, sweetcorn, dank cardboard. Not great, but it is a Malta tick.

Sydney’s suburbs are a great source of random country beers....Malta! 330ml bottle into schooner glass. Slightly hazy pale amber beer with two finger white head. Medium carbonation, tiny bubbles. Soft aroma of cardboard and honey. Sharp bitter taste, bitter finish with earthy hops and nettles. A little sweetness sits right at the end of a lingering finish. Certainly is astringent! Maybe too much.

SAMPLE at a tasting. Clear yellow golden, white head. sweet malts and bread, grassy, solid herbal bitterness. No industrial harshness. A top-notch macro-lager.

Bottle from Circular Quay in Sydney. Pours clear yellow gold with a decent white head. Grass and malt dominate the nose. Taste is fairly bland with it being malty with a little grass. Not much doing really.
