A bitter beer for the sweetest coast, our West Coast IPA hits major-key notes of citrus and flower, but finishes with a mellowing, hoppy flourish. Smooth and spirited at the same time? Only on the West Coast.

On tap at the brewery. Clear medium copper with a large white head that fades slowly leaving tight lace. Nose is resin, light citrus peel and light crackery malt. Light malt sweetness under a big pine bitterness. Mouth is medium slick with average carbonation and a long bitter finish. 8/4/8/4/16

Perfect foam and clear golden body. Great sweet hoppiness on the nose. Flavour is a fine balance between bright sweet hops and a hint of a malty back end. There are so many forgettable IPAs out there but this shines through by simply being well made and balanced.

(bottle, 33cl) Cloudy, orange to light-amber colour with a thick and off-white foamy head. Phenolic spicy and yeasty aroma with fruity and slightly resiny notesof citrus and melon, backed by hints of caramel. Quite bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Yeasty spicy malty taste with fruity and slightly resin-spicy hops and phenolic notes in the background; dry and bitter hoppy finish with a lasting fruity and resiny hoppy tail. 01.IV.15

Hazy lighy amber with a thin head. Fresh berryish hop with a nice piney note. Bitter but clean with biscuity malts. Great balance. Classic west coast IPA.

Bottle: Poured a dark golden color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops notes with light bitter notes is pleasant enough. Taste is a nice mix of citrusy hoppy notes with some subtle tropical flavours and some bitter notes that are clearly noticeable in the aftertaste. Body is full enough with good carbonation. Enjoyable but doesn’t necessarily stray too much from the style.

Tap at Butcher & Bullock in Vancouver BC. Pours light gold with a white head. Light pale stone fruit aroma. Med body. Quite hoppy: fruity/earthy/tropical. Nicely bitter. Enough caramel for support. Works for me.
