Hah! I thought I rated this already. Bottle. Smells like a fest beer. Darker hue pale. Nice head and lots of lively co2 visible in the brew, hope it carries over to the palate. Each slug is the same, it wants to be a decent fest beer but the middle turns into an unpleasant higher alky astringent annoying kick of bitterness, quite surprising in its power. It lingers in your moth for such a long time. This gottah be way more than 30 IBU, no shit and its difficult too! Grinding gooch, gook, gringo, guido, grahzilla. Very unwanted sharply bitter finish, whew.

12 ounce bottle into dimpled mug, bottled in fall 2015. Pours crystal clear deep orange/copper color with a 1 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big honey, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big honey, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of honey, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, grass, light pepper, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors with minimal yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Oktoberfest style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. This was a touch hoppy for the style, but everything else was spot on. A very enjoyable offering.

Draft - Caramel with some dark grain notes. Clear copper with a decent white head. Grainy with some caramel and a light bitterness. Finish is grainy.

Sample at the brewpub: This beer pours a dark reddish-amber color with a nil off-white head. Thin, spotty lacing. The aroma is malty with a fair amount of hops as well. Medium body with more bitter hops than are usually found in the style, however the malt base is still there. The finish is soft and sweet without much lingering malt. Just average.
