Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a clear reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, fruit and malt. Medium to full body with a citrusy hops character and notes of caramel malt and herbs. The finish is malty up front with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Poured up on tap at the Dragonmead brewpub with deep clear copper body and off white head. The aroma puts off citrus hops, some hop resin as well as roasted malts and dark fruity ester notes. The taste is bold and rich with roasted malts, pine and citrus hop bitterness, mineral notes and a sense of yeastiness. It stays that way into the finish remaining hop forward with firm supporting notes of roasted malts.

Tap at the MBG Summer Festival. Poured amber with an off-white head. Aroma was hoppy with fruity and citrus undertones, particularly some orange. Flavor was nicely balanced with a hoppy yet not over powering flavor letting the malts do some work. There was an undertone of sweet oranges, kind of like mandarins.
