Poleeko Pale Ale is an exceptionally flavorful and well-balanced beer. With a bright, citrus hop profile and mild malt flavors reminiscent of English biscuits, the aromas of pink grapefruit and lemon zest compliment the brisk, balanced finish to create a truly refined American Pale Ale.

Boks 12 fl. oz. spandert av Rune under rateseanse hos ham 24 jan 11. Aprikosfarget. Høyt kremskum som legger seg på glassveggen. God fruktig aroma. Smaken er fyldig & fruktig. En flott, frisk pale ale. Svakt søtlig ettersmak. Kom ikke og si at boksøl ikke kan være bra!

Can picked up at Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo. Nice lacework from a patchy, white surface. Cloudy, golden-orange body. Dusty and fruity hops to the nose. Fresh peaches and honey sweetness in flavour. Herbal smooth on the swallow. Great session qualities (shared with Finn, Tromsø 24.01.2011).

From a 650ml bottle on 25/1/2011. Has a moderate but pleasant aroma of pine, oranges, caramel and toffee, with some floral notes. Flavour wise, there is heaps going on with citrus fruit, spices, nuts and caramel and toffee notes. There are oodles of lovely, lingering hops to savour long after it goes down the hatch. This is a superb pale ale and criminally under-rated on here. Yet another cracker from Anderson Valley.

This pale ale poured a slightly cloudy, light yellow colour with a bright white head. Scents include corn, grass and hopps. First sip was smooth with a watery base. Flavours of floral hopps most prodominant. A little citus and honey flavours aswell. Finish is slightly bitter with grassy hopps lingering.

12oz bottle. Light golden color, off-white head. Aroma is light malts, with notes of floral hops in there. Flavor is a sweet, mild malt one, with touches of orange and a tinge of grapefruit. Pretty refreshing.

Can, at Haandverkerstuene. A hazy, orange beer with a minimal sized creamy, off-white head. Citrusy, piney nose where the malty sweetness are present but in the back. The flavor has citrus peel, pineapple, some notes of peaches, and a fine malty sweetness. Good bitterness too. Medium body, smooth. The finish is fruity and bitter. The can is really ugly, but the beer is quite nice. A bit sweet maybe, and the hop profile isn’t my preferred one, but it drinks very easy. 100312

Small white head. Hazy yellow body. Citric orangey aroma with floral notes. Dry strawy floral citric taste with mealy notes. Sharpish mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry orangey dusty strawy aftertaste with crisp bread notes. Very nice, but perhaps not as fruity as it could be. (0.355l bottle, Håndverkerstuene, Oslo.)

I was a bit disappointed by this beer. I’ll try to buy a bottle some time for a little comparison. It’s a golden beer with a big head that dissipated. The nose is fairly average and heavier on the malt than hops. The flavor is a bit better with some subtlety but ultimately not enough going on. It’s well-balanced and enjoyable, just not terribly interesting.
