From can at Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Dark amber, hazy body, with a medium, creamy, white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, passion fruit, some biscuit. Taste with the same aromas, but with the fruity notes more present and also some grass and more sweet malt notes. Mouthfeel is medium to light, slick, with a lively carbonation and it finishes medium bitter, dry, with lemon zest, pine, grass. Very good. A typical west coast IPA, with a nice balance between pine and tropical fruit notes. Also with a nice malt backbone. Quaffable!

IPA with Amarillo, Centennial and Simcoe. Yellowish white, stable head, hazy amber colour. Aroma of lemon zest, orange, green apple and lots of citrussy, green hops, dry-hopped. Taste begins with a subdued fruitiness, bit of caramelly malts, gradually becoming more hoppy and ending in a very green, herbal, peppery hop bitterness that sticks for quite a long time. Nice example of its style.

Sampled @ Gents Bierfestival 2014. 355 ml. can. Spare creamy off-white head, quickly gone. Cloudy orange. Fruity quite bitter citrus hop, citrus, grapefruit, faint grass,… Taste is bitter citrus peel, straw, hay, light pine, allspice, very bitter resin, peel, citrus hop finish, strong bitter citrus, focus is heavily on bitterness. Full bodied. Focus feels very heavily on strongly bitterness with to balance it. Good for what it is but less my preference.

No head left, clear darker amber-orange beer; some lace. Fruity, citrussy nose, hop, and a bit of caramel; summer grain. Bitter, citruspeel, but in delayed action - at first nothing! A tad of lightly toasted malts, but not much. Slick, oily, if not really well-bodied. Well, OK. Certainly.

A nice biting IPA, but with a touch of a sweet finish. Pours clear amber with a nice robust creamy head. Aroma is complex, sweet malt, honey, toffee, caramel, no sign of the hops that are to come. Taste comes in with a nice malt flavor, hos riding the wave on to the taste buds at the finish. Enjoyable throughout.

Can from Biernavigatie, dated Apr 2014, large sample, served in an Oersoep tulip. Slight hazy amber color, big frothy off-white head. Aroma of smooth grapefruity hop, lemon, citrus, slight pine, resin, cookie malt, caramel, Medium bitter in taste, slight grainy sweetness, bit caramel and toffee. Bit citrussy bitterness. Nice IPA, canned and not too expensive over here.

12 oz can from De Bierkoning @ home on this very hot day. Nice to have some very affordable US craftbrew in NL. Amber color, hazy. Off white, rocky & sticky head. Aroma’s: upon opening the can strong resin, which quickly makes way for red fruit & caramel malts. Retronasal there’s caramel, (red) fruit, hoppy acidity and the resin is coming back!. Flavor is moderate sweet and rather bitter. Medium bodied, good carbo. Finishes with a lasting, dry, firm bitterness. The weather called for a more crisp (less sweet) ipa, but still very nice!
