Brewed entirely with barley grown and malted on the Saanich Peninsula by artisan maltster Mike Doehnel. This “winter batch” is revealed by one of the most unique Belgian yeast strains in existence. The resulting ale is a pale, golden effervescent beer with a fruity nose balanced with a sweet malt profile and tangy finish. It is the flavor of the sun, the rain and the earth of Vancouver Island.

Bottle - Vintage 2011 - Little bit of feet and funk. Lite citrus and hay. Clear gold with a rich white head. Light esters, honey and yeast. Held up extremely well.

Bottle from Liberty Wine, 10th St., Vancouver
Hazy yellow pee color; small head. Aroma of laboratorized Belgian yeast, light chamomile and hay, light plastic, light medicines; it kinda misses the point for being a Saison, or Farmhouse Ale as promised on the label. The mouthfeel is quite dry, there are light lemony tones; the bitterness is high; some traces of Belgian yeast, but not enough of its character. Mediocre.

650mL bottle, pours hazy golden blond with a white head. Dry pear, orange peel, champagne yeast and barnyard funk on the nose. Light flavour of yeast, dry pear and barnyard funk. Very nice - probably as good as Farmhand Ale.
