Draft - Minty, herbal and sweet oak. Cloudy gold with a thin head. Like mouthwash minty, oak and some vinous notes. Mint dominates unfortunately.

Released last week for the Kentucky Derby - aged in whiskey barrels with mint and some other adjuncts - this is the second barrel-aged, adjunct-laden iteration of this beer - it makes me wonder if they thought the base beer was as bad as I thought it was - anyway - this has a moderate toasty oakiness and vanilla from the barrels - the mint is very strong, which would not be bad if it did, for some inexplicable reason, combine with the vanilla notes and other qualities of the beer to make this taste quite a lot like toothpaste - "toothpaste-flavored barleywine," they should call this - some toasted coconut in the finish, but yea, it tastes strongly of toothpaste - meh, bordering on ick.
