Bottle from LDW. Clear blond colour, white foam. Medium sweet, some dry and bready malty notes, rather yeasty, a bit industrial.

Towering, very dense, light yellowish head, leaving shards of lace over metallic golden beer, fine pearling. Intense hopped malt ("beery") nose; later more grassy, herbal, "herb" toetsen, garden herbs and pale malts, almost without the sweetness. In the flavour, the sweetness of the pale malts appears, unfortunately paired to the disappearance of the herbs/hops. Rather indifferent taste, just a little bit peppery. Quite slick (restsugars, proteins?), light body, good carbonation. I don't understand this beer, its "raison d'être" . It's like a big company lager made with top fermentation. Lichtgeel bier met mooie stevige schuimkraag. Smaak is licht bitterzoet met iets van sinaasappel. Best goed.

Golden colour, large frothy head that disappears after a while, fair lacing. Aroma is lots of juniper, some orange and alcohol. Light sweetness. Feels cloying. Not very good.

The first beer to be commercialized in bottled form by this brewery, a microbrewery founded by John Martin in Bruges in 2015 - taking advantage of the fact that they have been the owner of the old, historical Bourgogne des Flandres brand since 1993. This brand originated in Bruges in the early 20th century, in a local brewery called Den Os, hence the name of this blonde one in the range. Bottle from the Delhaize supermarket in Lokeren. Quite thick and frothy, irregularly shred-lacing, egg-white, mousy, thinning and breaking, eventually very open head on a cristal clear, 'metallic' golden beer with old gold hue and very fierce sparkling throughout; remaining clear till the last drop, so very obviously filtered. Industrial and sweet aroma: clear pasteurization (cooked cloth), banana, candyfloss, white bread, phenolic cloves and the old familiar 4-vinyl guaiacol, white sugar, honey, apple, rubber, iron shavings, rainwater, freshly struck matches somewhere, hint of grass. Sweetish onset, banana ester but in a very dull and 'dead' kind of way, touch of red apple somewhere, medium carb (softer than expected based on the looks); metallic (even 'coppery') in the middle, with a slick, bit oily but thinnish cerealliness - very clearly partially sugar and not all-malt - with a lingering honeyish sweetish touch, though nowhere cloyingly so. Grassy hop bitterish note in the finish but only vaguely so, clove- and even 'bouillon'-like phenols (4-vinyl guaiacol again) and lingering metallic effects as well as something rubbery, along with this basic sweetness... Expectations were low considering how that awfully soulless John Martin company is behind it, but this is even worse than I was fearing: very industrial, sweet, unpleasantly metallic and unpleasantly pasteurized, 'empty' beer - clearly one intended to please the large crowds, which now have an alternative to Leffe Blonde or Grimbergen Blond to chug down. I was actually considering to visit this brewery and its taproom upon my next trip to Bruges but thankfully this rubbish beer saves me a lot of time by no longer having to do so.
