This oak aged blend of Bing and Sour pie cherry sour red ales has been steeped on spices fresh from Grenada and wild flower honey, served with a slice of orange at 70 C deg. It’s like Christmas in a glass before the credit card bill comes due!

Draft 8 oz pour at the barrel house, served hot with the orange garnish, and paired with my favorite beer cheese soup. The beer was served hotter than the soup! Love it. What an amazing beer this is, and a unique idea that is so well executed. Glowing dark red ruby pour, with a scattered foam head and lace. Aroma of a hot aoole cider, with cinnamin, spice, and soft cherry. Berry, spice, cherry, all in a hot cider body. Fantastic job here. Loved it.

Served hot at the barrel house, PDX with a slice of orange swimming up top as described above, 11/11/14. Rich burgundy with moderate dirty crimson spotting. Nose is rich cherries, spice, orange peel, clove. Taste comprsies big cherry licks, glazed cherries, liquorice, stepped orange peel, clove, spice. Medium bodied, warming close. Ok for what it is but I struggle to hold this winter novelty up against any top draw sours in terms of a RB score!

Tap at Cascade Brewing, Portland. Served as warm with slice of orange. Colour is deep red with small bubbly white head. Aromas and flavours: Berries, cherries, sweetness and spices. Beer? Hard to say...

What a treat! In a small keg, served hot with a orange slice in it..orange slice you say..BS! No this is good. Pours a dark ruby color with no head. Huge spices, cherries and orange in the nose. The flavor is wonderful as well with huge cherries, spices, some lemon peel , nutmeg especially. This works to perfection. Just excellent brew. World class ingenuity. Now, I don’t drink this all day every day, but for what it is: it’s awesome.

On tap at Cascade, served hot with a slice of orange sitting in the beer. Pours a dark ruby red with a medium pink foamy head. Aroma is obscured due to the heat, but gives off notes of cinnamon and other such spices, some cherries and honey. Flavour of sour cherry pie, lots of citric acid due to the orange, slight spices - but the more the beer sits, the more the orange is prominent. Certainly unique - the only other hot “kriek” I've had to compare is Unibroue's Quelque Chose and I much prefer that one, though this one is quite different due to the sourness and spices. Solid, unique treat.
