Rural Brewer Brown Brew is a mouthful, but a mouthful is all you’ll need to be glad you picked up this mumble-producing potation. Pours chestnut-brown with mild roast and round sweet flavours; it’s tough to say but easy to like.

Nice dark brown colour. The aroma is molasses and weirdness, like some kind of pickled nuts. Bland and quite sweet on the palate with a simple, light molasses character. Finishes quite sweet and a bit like a dark mild, albeit stronger.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a deep dark brown with an amber tinge with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted nuts and some light toffee. Flavour is smooth and quite robust, with toasted nuts, dry toffee and bready malt. A surprisingly flavourful brown ale from Phillips with everything in proportion. Very nice stuff.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark brown color with small head. The aroma is light, the mouthfeel is dry and weak; dark caramel flavor with a dash of roasted malts, a bit nutty too in the final; ordinary bitterness.
Among Brown Ales, one that is easy to drink; yet, there is not much interest here.

Bottle - Toffee, nuts and grains. Deep clear brown with a light brown head. Toasted malt, a little nutty and some mild bitterness. Not much body or sweetness, more like an american bitter.
