Throughout the years we've brewed and rebrewed this recipe with over 20 different hops, and in 2017 we expanded the series to include double dry-hopped versions (for that nth degree of hope aromatics).
SIMCOE: Known for producing dank and citrusy flavours, Simcoe brings an orange-like quality to this hoppy brew.

Tap at the brewpub. Pine resin forward hop aromas. Medium bitterness. A nice hop to showcase, leans more towards the pine hop spectrum. Quite nice.

(500ml bottle from the brewery) Pours a rather hazy medium gold with a decent white head that fades without lace. Aroma is super fresh, extremely leafy and somewhat dank, wet evergreen forest, fresh grass, weed, unripe mango, citrus peels, vague sweet tropical fruit, ferns. Flavour is rather less striking in its hop character, soft notes of fresh leaves, grapefruit and lemon peels, unripe mango/pineapple, leafy, a bit coniferous and grassy, a soft sweet core balanced by relatively light bitterness. Medium bodied, slightly prickling carbonation. Good stuff, but the Simcoe shows off much better in the nose than on the tongue here.

500mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a cloudy, opaque pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings tons of soft pine and floral notes, like a fresh meadow, with some crackery malt in the back. Flavour brings out loads of floral notes, again like a fresh meadow, some mild citrus, and biscuity malt. Very fresh, floral and dry on the palate. Highly drinkable pale. Great stuff.

Same great piney yeast taste as the other monogamies. The hops variety isn’t the most interesting, but makes for a good session ale. Pours cloudy blond with good lacing and head. Some citrus and pine. Carbonation is somewhere between soft and fizzy. Tap at Bar hop.

Bottle - Orange and lemon with a bit of resin. Pale yellow with a thin white head. Lemon and hay with a ton of bitterness and very dry. Not the nicest single hop. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
