Sample at the Seattle brewpub. The beer is a dark brownish-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt and dark fruit. Medium body with flavors of biscuit malt, raisins and figs. The finish is short with a dark fruit and yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft - Brown sugar and an earthiness I can’t place. Cloudy brown with a nice rich head that will not fade. Sweetness from the yeast makes it seem like a Belgian but without the body. Definite dried fruit and alcohol on the finish and malts throughout. Not to my taste.

Tap at OBF. Pours dark amber brown with a beige head. Aroma is actually fig. Med + body. Flavor is dark roast with figgy darkish fruit. That’s pretty much it. Not dark dark - but darker than many wheats. Lightly bitter finish fights off sugar. It’s really nice.
