This one is much smokeyer and sharper. Sharpness might come from the ash, but I can imagine the age of the first bottle also made it smoother. Is it better? Bottle. Fresh cut wood, smoked sausage, chocolate malt, and fresh hay aroma. Oil black with small tan head. Moderately sweet bourbon, molasses/chocolate malt and moderately bitter dry wood/hay flavor. Good body. Light alcohol finish. Very nice wood presence in this beer.
