Bottle: Black with a dark tan head. Aroma of smoky chocolate, peat, tobacco, scotch. Flavour has a pinch of salt, dark chocolate malt, peat, smoke....and a very good transference of the scotch barrels....dry, cooling alcohol, salt. A big, and delightful alteration to the base beer. Liked it a lot.

Bottle. Strong iodine/seaweed, salt, peat smoke, chocolate malt, and dry hay aroma. Black with large brown head. Mildly sweet whisky (predominately scotch - don't get much bourbon in this), chocolate malt, light salt, and moderately bitter peat/seaweed/hay/alcohol flavor. Good body - bitter vegetal/radish aftertaste. The Islay scotch aroma and flavor definitely dominate this beer and covers much of the characteristics of the original and is much drier.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black with medium beige head that lasts leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong peat, wood, booze. Medium body, wood, smoke, peat, boozy dry finish, very good.
