Tall boy @ Foodmaxx Harrisonburg VA: Tomato nose. Cloudy red, headless. Tomato dominant, subtle chili pepper, salt. Citrusy tang, maybe orange? Medium body, moderate carbonation. A lot going on, but ultimately more bloody maria than beer.

Orange brown pour. Tomato, and carrot, almost like a V8 soup meets Campbell's tomato soup. Hot jalapeno and onion with hint of pepper and worschestire is the palate. Interesting....tastes like Bloody Mary's.

Very mild aromas of beer, tomato juice and maybe hints of tamarind. Flavors aren't too bad, like nose with suggestions of the picante. Body is a bit watery. Otherwise drinkable.

Gas station find (WaWa, Florida). This is weird stuff. It's not exactly bad or gross but I didn't drink more than just a few sips before pouring it out. So the tomato juice flavor is prominent, it's definitely salty, and the lime is there. Those are 3 ingredients that work well together. The tamarind is a weird inclusion, there is a definitely sweetness from that that is kinda weird. Hard to evaluate the base lager, I'm sure its basically some version of Modelo Especial. Really hard beverage to rate.

24 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 9/11/2017. Pours moderately murky/cloudy reddish orange color with a minimal foamy off white head with poor retention, that reduces to nothing pretty quickly. No lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Okay appearance. Aromas of tomato juice, lime, salt, garlic, onion, celery, chipotle pepper, tamarind, brown sugar, peppercorn, Worcestershire sauce, light cracker/corn, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of tomato juice, lime, salt, spices, peppers, tamarind, and light malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of tomato juice, lime, salt, garlic, onion, celery, chipotle pepper, tamarind, brown sugar, peppercorn, Worcestershire sauce, light cracker/corn, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Mild herbal/grassy bitterness, tamarind tartness, and pepper spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tomato juice, lime, salt, garlic, onion, celery, chipotle pepper, tamarind, brown sugar, peppercorn, Worcestershire sauce, light cracker/corn, and herbal/grassy earthiness for a while. Nice robustness and balance of tomato juice, lime, salt, spices, peppers, tamarind, and light malt flavors; with a with a solid malt/bitter/tart/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Mildly increasing bitter/tart/spicy dryness. Medium-plus carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/slick, and lightly sticky/grainy mouthfeel that is good. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 3.3%; mild increasing pepper heat after the finish through the glass. Overall this is a pretty good fruit/spice/vegetable beer. All around good robustness and balance of tomato juice, lime, salt, spices, peppers, tamarind, and light malt flavors; Very smooth and pretty refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/spicy finish. I liked this a little bit more than the regular Modelo Chelada. A little more overall spice presence from the peppers. Well balanced between all flavors, with decent adjunct lager presence. A nicely enjoyable offering.

24 oz man can. Poured the first half. Drank the second half from the can like it was meant to be enjoyed. My love for pepper beers got me picking up rateable material at the local mini mart. $3 for the can. Won't be too disappointed if this magically isn't the best beer I've had in recent memory. It pours as a half way point between orange soda and tomato juice. Pure tomatoes on the aroma here. Blindfolded, I'd think this was a can of tomatoes for sure. Flavor is pretty much dominated by tomatoes as well. An odd lime like sweetness to follow. Not much pepper spice to this at all. Not the toughest beer to drink though. If you like tomato juice, you can pick out a refreshing element to this. Touch of salt to this. Just not as much heat as I would hope, or expect from the marketing. Strange brew. A great gift for the V8 session lager lover in your life.
