tap at the brewpub - Pours very dark brown with a small tan head. It smells of roast malt and coffee, of course. The flavor is rich and roasty with lots of coffee. It’s medium bodied. To me it could be even a little more robust and that would be great, but it’s a good beer.

Bottle. Strong earthy black coffee, chocolate malt, and hay aroma. Black with moderate brown head. Moderately sweet coffee, chocolate malt, and moderately bitter earthy coffee ground/hay flavor. Good body. Tasty.

Bottle: Black with a tan head. Aroma of old coffee grounds, chocolate. Taste is over-cooked black coffee, roast, dark chocolate malt. Fairly thick bodied and a nice coffee bittering. Pretty good.....serious coffee notes in this one.

Sample at Twenty Tap. Pours a dark brown-black color with a medium foamy light brown head that diminishes gradually. Sticky small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee, malt and dark chocolate. Medium to full body with a roasty mocha character and notes of malt and hops. The finish is bittersweet chocolate and coffee. Above average overall.
