Dating back to the 14th Century, bock beer and the Capricorn goat are a symbol of good times to come. Broegel Bock captures the spirit of the original German brew masters. With Munich and amber malts, German hallertau hops and a dose of Czech saaz hops (Aldi USA)

Bottle. Clear, medium brownish-Amber. Malty up front all the way to the finish. Aroma is mainly sweet roasted grains.

Bottle. Chocolate caramel malt and fresh hay aroma. Copper with large tan head. Lightly sweet caramel malt and mildly bitter fresh hay flavor. Light body. A reasonably decent Dunkler Bock - pretty good for a discount Aldi beer.

Bottle: Pours clear, dark copper with a frothy, light beige head. Caramel, dark grain scent. Taste is lightly toasted caramel malt. Watery....but drinkable.... Not a bad taste....just not much of it.

Not quite a bock, but a caramelly sweet dark lager. Barely any hop character, just enough (barely) to balance the finish. Simple straightforward sweetness, none of the depth of Munich malt. Clean and drinkable enough.

Sixer from Aldi: Buttered bread, kibble, honey on the nose. Clear bronze, thick yellow head. Hardly any flavor, maybe cola and mild DMS. Light, thin, and watery. I bet if I closed my eyes and drank this I would think I’m drinking a light beer. Weak.
