The hop-dominant flavor and aroma might make you think this is a “bigger” beer, but the drinkable, thirst-quenching attributes of Kicker are enhanced by a lower alcohol content. A light caramel or toffee malt background and light to medium body mouth feel make this session ale a satisfying brew. The aroma delivers a bright hop aroma of citrus, such as grapefruit and tangerine, with a light malt backbone. The hop flavors can be truly fruity, with tangerine and strawberry notes coming from Citra and Amarillo, and a grapefruit and pine taste from Simcoe and Mosaic hops.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a thick white head, lots of sheet lacing throughout the entire glass. Aroma is mild, sweet and malty with a light citrus presence. Tastes sweeter overall and minimally bitter. Caramel and toffee. Some light floral and citrus hops, mostly a malty APA that has been toned down.

Squatty bottle. Pale yellow. Big strong initial IPA hop blast that quickly evolves to something a little less viscous. Yes, turn more into an APA as the session continues. Says best by 10/16. Bout average for an APA. Pretty good co2 clear to the end.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Golden. Aroma of rather stale hops. Flavor has a bit of sweetish malt, a bit bready, and bitterish fruity hops, somewhat stale. Rather light-bodied. Pretty easy-drinking.

This brew is a clear copper-gold color with a medium thick white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Grassy hops, fruit and malt in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of mild hops, tropical fruit and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a grassy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

355ml bottle. Pours a clear amber with a small, frothy, long lasting, white head that laces. Sweet aroma of citrus, stone fruit, caramel malt and pine. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, citrus, stone fruit and pine with a mildly dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Light body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Ok. Easy drinking.
