The hop-dominant flavor and aroma might make you think this is a “bigger” beer, but the drinkable, thirst-quenching attributes of Kicker are enhanced by a lower alcohol content. A light caramel or toffee malt background and light to medium body mouth feel make this session ale a satisfying brew. The aroma delivers a bright hop aroma of citrus, such as grapefruit and tangerine, with a light malt backbone. The hop flavors can be truly fruity, with tangerine and strawberry notes coming from Citra and Amarillo, and a grapefruit and pine taste from Simcoe and Mosaic hops.

On tap at Red Cow North Loop. Pours a clear light gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has grass and light earthy pine with some light grain and a bit of citrus. Flavor has citrus and grass with a bit of light grain supporting.

Light gold. Piney notes in the smell. Pine, grapefruit hops, nary a sign of malt. Pretty much like most other Session IPAs. Meh
