The Imp is a ruthless, barrel-aged trickster. Black down to its very heart, this beer has dark intentions, but sweet and warming flavors. Chocolate and raisiny malt is complimented by apple brandy fruit and a dry finish belying its initial richness. It’s aroma is almost all of that delicious Copper & Kings nectar that resided in the barrel before it, but it’s flavor is round, complex and warming. It’s a smooth-talker and sure to go straight to your head, the rascal.

From tap. Pours hazy dark brown to black, small, creamy and tan head. Aroma is dense malty, whickesy. Herbal and toasted malt. Sweet, toasted and caramelish. Dense malty. Fruity and sweet malty.

Keg at the brewpub, 12/18/16. Dark brown. Aroma of piney hops, chocolate, tart fruits. The taste is chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, berries. Medium bodied, mild bitterness.

Draft. Orange peel, chocolate malt and grass aroma. Black with small tan head. Sweet orange peel, light chocolate malt, and moderately bitter grass/grapefruit peel flavor. Dry finish. Nice, citrusy stout.
