tap at Fortezza’s, the placemat showed it as Red Ryeding Hood, the chalk board listed it as Wry American. The bartender says the name was changed to Wry American shortly before they released it. Still trying to figure out if it’s the same beer with a different name or a different beer. - Pours lightly hazy amber and smells mainly of rye and malt. The flavor is caramel malt and rye and is quite sweet. There’s a fair amount of hops hiding under all that malt and it comes through more in the finish. It strikes me as a bit medicinal though and like the other Chapman’s beers in my flight, the sweetness is cloying, though not nearly as much so as the Monstre.

Draft. Cherry, toffee malt, and weedy hay flavor. Amber with moderate head. Lightly sweet toffee malt and moderately bitter quinine/hay flavor. Good body. Okay - kind of harsh.
