Bottle: Cloudy gold/yellow with a thin, sort of scummy looking head. Lemon-peel, grapefruit scent. Taste is a bit metallic......citrus bitter....a slight medicinal tone to it....a little pine....and something that brings to mind the old chloraseptic throat spray I had when I had my tonsils out 40+ years ago.......I don’t know....something triggered it for me... Unappealing.....at best.

Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub this beer poured a dark copper color with a medium sized foamy yellow-white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was tart citrus and pine. The flavor was bitter and bread with pine, grapefruit and orange notes. Long bitter orange and pine finish. Medium body. Meh.

Tap bowsers, and its not bad over all. A good un-rude ale from hat. I normally don’t care for warm fermented top brewed beers but this is OK. Smell of slight hop perfume. Taste is not quite up to the bitterness of IPA and I like that. The hop bite builds but never quite gets upo to the IPA level. Some decent co2 in this as well and it lacks that typical mouth coating soapy IPA effects. Probably should be reclassified as an APA. Good overall ratebeer experience.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 2/10/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy bright golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pear, apricot, apple, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of citrus/fruity/pine hops and light pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pear, apricot, apple, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of herbal/pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon/orange rind, pear, apricot, apple, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance and solid robustness of citrus/fruity/pine hops and light pale malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and minimal astringent hop flavors after the finish. High amount of dryness from bitterness/body as well. Medium-high carbonation and light body; with a very smooth, crisp, sticky/resinous, and slightly grainy/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a pretty good session IPA. All around good balance and solid robustness of citrus/fruity/pine hops and light pale malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering with a unique hop profile.

On tap at The British Beer Company Fairly clear deep gold with a smallish bubbly white head. Solid caramel and toffee maltiness with some earthy spicy light citrus hop aroma and flavor. I’m still not a fan of this style, but this beer isn’t half bad.
