The classic pale ale is a celebration of hops, plain and simple. The malt bows and takes a knee and allows the humulus lupulus to shine through radiantly. We get this. And also, we think that lifetime pilsner drinkers need a gateway beer towards this side of the spectrum. Enter Hoosier Pale Ale, or as we call it, HOOPA. This bright ale sings with the treble notes from the thoughtful blend of the best American and English hops but stops shy of stealing focus from a base (or bass) of choice malted barley.

Can: Just slightly hazy yellow-gold with a thick, off-white head. Grass, lemon-peel aroma. Crisp lemon, grapefruit, grain malt taste. Good grapefruit-peel bitter and citrus zest. Very solid.

Draft/can. Grassy orange malt and orange peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet orange, biscuit malt, and moderately bitter grapefruit peel flavor. Decent body. A very good APA.
