Hop Quake is a 6.5% IPA measuring in at 63 IBUs brewed with Warrior, Cascade, Centennial and Columbus hops. Not too hoppy and not too heavy, it should be a good sipper for the increasingly warm South Carolina December.

Pencil shavings nose. Cloudy brown, floaties, thin yellow head. Pencil shavings and caramel, slightly smoky. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Rather an India Red than IPA. Stale, but nice malt character.

Bottle. Orange peel and caramel malt aroma. Cloudy amber with moderate head. Strong bitter lemon/grapefruit peel and light caramel malt flavor. Decent body. Pretty good - glad I tried this one again.

Bottle: Pours cloudy, amber-brown with a minimal white head. Caramel, orange malt scent. Taste is a little bready, resiny....caramel malt. Not very good at all...just a dull, leafy bitter and little else,,,,,unpleasant.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Bruisin' Ales, after midnight on NYE, so technically 1/1/15, We'll definitely call this my FIRST TICK of 2015!!!

Aroma: Decent aroma which has some earth hops, bread, spice, and a little orange
Appearance: The color is murky orange, with absolutely no head and some light, drippy lace
Flavor: Flavor-wise, I got some decent, though lighter, bitterness, along with a mild sweetness
Palate: The body is medium, fairly clean, a little sticky, a little dry, and a little off
Overall Impression: This one is not the greatest. It isn't a bad beer, but it isn't a good one either. I could probably have rang in the new (rating) year better. Anyway, happy new year to all! May it be as ticktastic as you want it to be...
