Crafting delicious beer doesn’t start with ingredients. It starts with exploration. Back in the 90s, our constant need to experiment with culinary ingredients was considered heresy by some. But it was the passion and the constant trial and error that led to pure alchemy, and we began brewing with real fruit pulled from our brewpub kitchen. Made with sweet apricots, Aprihop blazed the trail as one of the first fruit-infused IPAs.

That ongoing journey continues today with Flesh & Blood IPA. We could save time and money by brewing with fruit extracts. But for us, authenticity counts. And when we say we brew with real fruit, we mean it.

“One of the first to experiment with fruit-infused IPAs… the result of 20 years of delicious R&D.” -Food & Wine

Brewed with mouth-puckering lemon flesh, sweet orange peel and blood orange juice, Flesh & Blood balances the resinous hoppy characteristics of an American IPA with the explosive zesty fruitiness and subtle drying tartness of citrus to deliver a highly quaffable ale that’s incredibly unique and lovely to down the whole year round.

On tap at City Tap Room Boston. Clear deep amber colour lasting white head. Decent malt flavour. More of an old school ipa. Bit of heat on the finish.

Can/Fest. A- Grassy, dank, mild citrus. A- Gold color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Bitter, orange peel. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- A pretty normal IPA. Plenty of bitterness and a bit of citrus. I hoped for a lot more orange flavor in here but did not get it. Everyone is head over heels that DFH is now in Nebraska and while I am excited, I am still struggling to find a ton of joy in any of their hoppy beers.

Pours dark amber with a thin white head. Resinous hops mix with lemongrass aroma. Taste is malty and hoppy, distinct pine resin flavor. Palate contains more resin as well as subtle orange notes. Good flavor, full bodied. Not as hoppy as one might expect.

4 month old can > pint glass A: Deep copper body with a short, quickly falling head and sparse lace. S: Malt toffee with ripe orange in the background. T: Strong taste of ripe orange or other citrus flesh. Some toffee and brown bread but not as sweet as expected. Lemon finish brightens things up. M: Medium heavy with low carbonation and resinous finish. O: Expected a boozy sweet mess but it's pretty tasty (and this can is very old). Not something I could drink a lot of but definitely worth a try.

Can. Pours a hazy orange color, with a big, bubbly, beige head. Lots of orange juice and orange peel aromas, with some pine, and honeysuckle. Sweet and citrusy, and quite bitter. Medium body, with a crisp, pulpy, sticky mouthfeel. This is a pretty nice, very citrus forward IPA.

Draught @ Ginger Man. Faintly cloudy dark amber-copper with large foamy light beige head, faint citrus aroma, medium carbonation, lightly bitter caramel malt-citrus taste, smooth body, long bitter finish. Closer to the English IPA than the American version.
