Toll!

Yellow-orange color with weizen head. A hint of yeasts and with a tartness that doesn?t really fit in there - or does it?. Taste is fresh and light, a bit spicy. The bananas are not as present as with most Bavarian examples. Not the best of Weizen, definitely not. Quite boring actually, but it has some nice spiciness, and the tartness gives it some freshness. Good drinkability. Like Mohren Pfiff, I?ve had this quite a few times while growing up in Vorarlberg.

Bottle from Kalea Bierkalender. Hazy, dark golden body with big, frothy, white head. Average Hefeweizen aroma with banana, orange, clove, grain. Taste is watery, with the same aromas and some biscuit, but all very light. Mouthfeel is thin, carbonation is low and the finish is light, with some spices. Boring. Much too thin and less aromatic.

WIrklich empfehlenswert.

Bottle (labelled as Fohrenburger Weizen, 5.2% alcohol). Sour milk, orange, peach, and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy orange-yellow color with small head. Moderately sweet orange, peach and wheat malt flavor with a light clove finish - excellent blending. An excellent Weizen.
