Leinenkugel’s is pleased to bring back Leinenkugel’s Big Butt Doppelbock into its limited-release portfolio. The name "Big Butt" comes from the image of two goats butting heads that you see on the label. Bock means billy goat in German and Leinenkugel’s Big Butt Doppelbock’s name and label pokes fun at the goat’s springtime mating ritual. The result is a malty, rich, full-bodied bock beer brewed with two-and six-row pale and specialty malts and two specialty hops. Like all Leinie’s beers, Big Butt Doppelbock is handcrafted one batch at a time in our historic Chippewa Falls brewery.

Bottle. Amber brown with a medium head. Aroma is nutty. Taste is a nutty, malty taste. Does not have the dried fruit of traditional German doppelbock.

bottle - Clear reddish-brown pour. The aroma is of toasted malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with caramel and a touch of dark fruit. It's alright though not as robust as I expected from a doppelbock.

Bottle from Albertsons. Decent looking pour, dark, clear brown with a soft foamy beige head. Sweet, nutty aroma and taste, but kind of watered down. Finishes sweet, like a root beer barrel candy, and painfully dry.

Sampled on draft at Gateway Grill this beer poured a dark brown color with orange highlights and a medium sized foamy tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet and malty with caramel and a bit of golden fruit. The flavor was toasty with honey, caramel and some golden fruit. Medium length finish. Medium body and fairly smooth.

12 oz bottlr poured. Pours a dark amber with a big frothy head. Lotion like, soapy aroma. Flavor is more mild.and smooth, but still a bit on the soapy side. This beer was just okay for me. Not quite the enjoyable flavors that I love in beer. Still glad I tried it.

Best before May 5th. From their variety pack.
Pours a dark brown. .with reddish hues. Small off white head of foam.

Smells of caramel malt, hints of chocolate and molasses.

Tastes sweetish from the caramel, bits of grain, molasses and chocolate lightly done. I sense a peculiar fruity note that I got in the smell as I rechecked.

Body is good.

Pretty enjoyable beer this is.
