Bottle. Ginger, cinnamon, tangy honey aroma. Chestnut with large light tan head. Sweet candied ginger, malt, and moderately bitter herbal hay flavor. Nice spice flavor without being overwhelming.

bottle - Pours mostly clear red with a small, light tan head. The aroma is of caramel and dark fruit. It tastes sweet with caramel and a little spice, mainly cinnamon. Medium to full bodied. Fairly good.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/24/2013. Pours moderately cloudy deep ruby red color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of big raisin, caramel, brown sugar, toast, brown bread, honey, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, coriander, clove, and herbal earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and spice notes; with great strength. Taste of raisin, caramel, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, honey, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander, clove, and herbal earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, caramel, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, honey, ginger, coriander, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and herbal earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance, robustness, and complexity of malt, honey, and spice flavors; with a great malt/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and lightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice spiced Christmas ale! All around good balance and complexity of malt and spice flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Nutty caramel malt, ginger, nutmeg cinnamon aroma. Clear deep amber with a moderate beige head. Sweet bready malt and huge spice flavor. Yup, it’s a spice bomb. Medium body, soft carbonation.

Draft @ Fatheads. Cloudy brown pour with the typical Christmas spice aromas. Large amounts of spice in aroma and flavor. Lots of nutmeg, cinnamon, toasted malt body and ginger in the finish. I’m glad the ginger isn’t over powering. The orange peel gives a nice citrus note to cut the spice. Pretty well made winter brew.

Lots of nutmeg in this bronze beer. Smells like cherry Pepsi. Caramel and lots of brown sugar. And cloves. Quite nice I could drink a growler of this but the heavy Coriander detracts.

Pour is somewhat dark from a bottle. Smell is sweet. Taste is better than expected but still carries that spiced thing. Does have some co2, not much. Bitter herbs start to stick their little heads up. Getting worse as the session continues. Typical lighter xmas beer but it must hide its alky fairly well at 7%.

Sample from growler at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 08/02/2012. The beer pours a dark reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of spices and malt. Medium body with a strong potpourri of spices up front, primarily ginger and nutmeg. Some bready malt in the background, and the spice diminishes in the course of a few drinks. The finish is sweetly spiced with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.
