Sample from growler at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 08/02/2012. The beer pours a dark reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of spices and malt. Medium body with a strong potpourri of spices up front, primarily ginger and nutmeg. Some bready malt in the background, and the spice diminishes in the course of a few drinks. The finish is sweetly spiced with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Had this one at the Fat Head’s in Pittsburgh PA as part of their Christmas in July theme......Sampled on draft this beer poured a ruby-chestnut color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma was very strong nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. The flavor was robust with dry spices - cinnamon, nutmeg and candied ginger predominantly with dry nutty malts and light floral hops underneath. The finish was long and spicy. Medium body. Solid.
