Pale blond color, with small head. The aroma is light, with very delicate lemony notes. Lean and quite dry mouthfeel, but smooth, with delicate malt flavor and decent bitterness; it has a light grassy hop character.
It’s a quite easy beer, but with some grace.

Yellow colour with a white head. Moderate caramelmalt and hoppy nose. Flavour are about the same, but gives a nice mouthfeel. Medium body. Good carbonation. Nice and fresh pils.

Bottle @ Augustiner Bierhalle Munich (the one half way between Karlsplatz and Mariensplatz). Clear yellow appearance with an off white head. Lemon, straw, grassy, floral aroma. Grainy, pils malty, dry grassy flavor. Not real issues but a little boring.

Brown 33cl bottle, best before May 2009, drank Jan 2009. Poured into a Veltins Pilsner tulip (twice). One of the clearest pilsners I’ve ever seen, very, very pale yellow, not even enough colour to call it golden. The fine looking white head that sat on top after each pour soon faded to lacing and wisps, shame. Odourless, and I mean odourless. Even as the beer warms, no aromas could be found, gets my standard pilsner/lager score of 3. Typical Bavarian pilsner feel and taste, clean, crisp and refreshing. Pilsners are not supposed to have strong flavours that knock you about and this one is no different. It does however keep it’s charactor throughout the drink, I mean it doesn’t go all metalic, or tinny and the last sip is as good as the first with no nasty aftertaste. One of the better Pilsners I’ve had.

Bottle, Augustiner Brau-stuben, Munich. Nice sparkling colour, herbs in the aroma, bitter taste and hoppy dryness in the end. A classic german pilsener. I don’t understand why all the pilseners are only avaible in bottle in Bavaria, why can’t I get a draugt one anywhere?
