Our alcohol-free weissbier is the first non-alcoholic beer ever to be marketed by the Andechs monastery brewery. The dealcoholisation process is gentle, so as to preserve that typical Andechs weissbier flavour for which it is appreciated so much.
The first thing that strikes you about the alcohol-free weissbier is its honey-to-amber colour, while its yeast turbidity is strong and yet finely structured. The multifaceted aroma is a delight, with fruit aromas including banana combined with a clove fragrance. As a drink, Andechs Alcohol-Free is very lively and highly refreshing with a satisfyingly full and elegant body. On the finish, it combines a light sweetness and fruity acidity with the distinct and yet pleasantly bitter flavour of hops, ending on a harmonious aftertaste. An alcohol-free thirst-quencher with the typical Andechs weissbier flavour: a fine yeast component, pleasantly tangy and sparkling in a way that makes you thirsty for more (original wort content: 12.5 percent by weight; alcohol content: under 0.5 percent by volume).

Pours very hazy orange, topped with medium, solid foamy white head. Gentle banana scent with some wet cardboard and gentle spices. Watery body, some initial sweetnes and slight citric feel. A bit spicy in the finish. Not unpleasant.

0,5 l bottle. Pours hazy golden yellow with big frothy lasting white head. Aroma is malt, grainy and plenty of straw. A bit of banana too. Taste is light sweet, medium bitter for weissbier and slightly sour. Body is very light, almost watery, texture is thin, carbonation average. Finish is medium, spicy bitterness with funny flavor ends up as wet cardboard.

Bottle at the source, 16/07/17. Hazed golden amber with a decent off white head. Nose is caramel, nana, brown sugar, bread dough. Taste comprises banana, clove, wheaten bread, grains, light vanilla. Light body but not too thin, fine to spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. Solid effort for the ABV ... plenty of flavour.

Intensiv bananiger Geruch. 9/7/6/8/8/7

0.5 l bottle from local ’trinkgut’, best before July 2017. Cloudy, orangeish amber with a large, foamy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish, yeasty-spicy aroma of lots of banana, pear and some clove. Slightly sweetish, a little sourish, moderately yeasty-spicy taste of banana, pear, some clove and a touch of bubblegum, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a little sourish and a bit yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite nice for what it is!
