Pours hazy golden orange color with off white head. Aromas of citrus and pine with some caramel. Bitter grapefruit and pine flavors with some caramel. Medium body with average carbonation. They just got this in at the bottleshop but I think it’s past it’s prime. Stale hops and malts dominate.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/8/2013. Pours moderately hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, orange zest, lemon zest, pineapple, floral, grass, herbal, caramel, bread, pine, and floral earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/earthy hop and malt notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, orange zest, lemon zest, pineapple, floral, grass, pine, herbal, caramel, bread, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of earthy floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, orange/lemon zest, pine, herbal, floral, caramel, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity of citrus/earthy hop and moderate malt flavors; with a moderately crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with and lightly creamy, and moderately crisp/sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice IPA. Good balance and complexity of citrus/earthy hop and malt flavors; and quite smooth and crisp to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.
