sampled at Oktobeerfest 2015 - I’m having difficulty determining if "tequila grande" as it was listed at the festival, ie. "tequila centeno grande", is the same beer as "centeno grande", or if it’s the "centeno grande" with the addition of tequila barrel aging. If anyone knows please let me know. For now I will assume that the beer under this listing is tequila barrel aged. Pours near black with a small tan head. It smells of dark roast malt and chocolate. The flavor is of roast malt, chocolate, some interesting spices, and yes, some tequila character that’s noticeable without being overwhelming. Medium to full bodied. Really good. This brew just works.

It finishes moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Taste of roast and wood with a tart and alcoholic finish.
