A traditional, full-flavored, German Lager with a crisp, clean finish. This is the bier that made Hofbräuhaus famous more than 400 years ago in Munich, and it’s brewed exactly the same way today.

Non Beer Trip Beer Trip Beer #34. Keg at the brewpub, 3/19/16. Clear pale golden, large foamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of doughy malt and noble hops. The taste is doughy malts, mild toastiness, grassy and floral hops. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness, well balanced.

Identical to the one in Pittsburgh. On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear golden with medium white head. Aroma is crisp hops, light body, medium carbonation, and thick big bubble lacing. Taste is light malt and crisp hops. Not that much flavor.

Clear, light amber body, firm white head. Malty aroma with a clean Saaz hop aroma. Well balanced, easy drinking. Good use of hops and malt. Crisp and clean. Not over the top, but good hop presence for the style and sufficiently malty.

This is the flagship beer for Kentucky's Hofbrauhaus. As such it is geared toward the crowds who file in to the biergarten after watching a movie or going to Gameworks. This beer is not going to take any chances. Golden color and effervescent with a medium white head. Light hops and malt aroma. Fizzy and light-bodied, with not much in the way of flavor. It is easy to drink and would do on a hot day in the garten.
