In a season when the dust mites were a persistent threat, decimating some other local hop yards, and an unusually dry winter made planting our rhizomes precarious, this farm and yard at exit 69 off I-80 proved what the Sacramento Valley is made of . . . showing why, when quality, not yield, was the measure of a successful hop yard, we were the largest hop growing region in the world!

Bottle. Over-ripe orange malt and grassy lemon peel aroma. Golden yellow with minimal head. Funky orange malt and moderately bitter grass and lemon peel flavor. Unique.

Burlap-wrapped bottle: Clear, deep gold with a frothy white head. Sweet, earthy, grass and grapefruit aroma. Taste is slightly vegetal, malty, piney hops... Might be a case of the power of suggestion, but I get the mushroom flavor as noted by brokensail as well. Different, but quite pleasant.

Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours brilliant gold with a slight, transient white head. Aroma is a very different green leafy perhaps earthy hop. Med body or better. Flavor is very green herb/veg. Finish is that plus earth. Very different.
