A massive wall of flavor and so dark it actually absorbs light – at least we think it does! A deeply rich and complex Russian Style Imperial Stout brewed with no less than 10 different malts is the backbone. We brewed this one with oats to add an additional layer of silkiness along with a healthy dose of locally roasted coffee to make this a truly amazing beer. Sip slowly with a friend and enjoy the rich flavors.

Bottle. Alcohol, coffee, and chocolate syrup aroma. Black with small tan head. Sweet chocolate/coffee malt and alcohol flavor. Decent body. Pretty good - not surprisingly boozy.

Bottle courtesy of Mashmaster. Sweet chocolate, smoky, coffee, earthy oat, and prune aroma. Viscous black pour with a large creamy brown head. Roasty coffee, char/ash, sweet chocolate, earthy oat flavor with a roasty bitter finish. Full creamy body, soft carbonation - very silky and smooth. Alcohol well hidden. Very nicely done.

Bomber. Pours a jet black color with a medium white head. A big smoke and chocolate nose. Very sweet roasted malts, cocoa, some ash, big vanilla, silky, some metallic roast. Quite good. Lingering metallic bite. Really sweet. No heat at all.

Bottle. Pours with a black hued body and a lasting tan head. Great lace. Aromas are of molasses, nutty, brown sugar, roasty, earthy, slightly dirty, baked bread, light esters, rotten fruit. Maybe a hint of coffee. Flavors are of chocolate, massive roast, a touch of dark roast acidity that greatly intensifies as it warms. Bready, and bitter. Gets quite acidic as it warms. Very lively carbonation, a bit carbonic, medium bodied. Didn’t realize there was coffee in it, but sharing it at a friend’s brewery, the acidity as it warmed prompted us to pull out a pH meter. Maybe it is the coffee, maybe it is an early infection, but 3.35 is a VERY low reading for an imperial stout.

Thanks to Dak for sharing. The 22oz bomber pours inky darkness with nice mocha colored head of foam. The aroma is pleasing and inviting with dark malt roastiness, slightly burnt yet moist chocolate fudge and dark roasted coffee. Alright! The taste delivers rich creamy goodness across the palate by unloading tons of dark roasted malts to fully burnt malt (but not so much so as to be ashy) heaven with layers of chocolate fudge and freshly crushed dark roasted oily coffee beans. I hardly notice the huge ABV of this beer. Goodness gracious. Dy-no-mite!! I would love to see how they top this world class offering.
