This German ale flys in the face of the Reinheitsgebot, also known as the German Beer Purity Law that stated the only ingredients in beer can be Malt, Water, Hops and Yeast. This is an take on an old German recipe from the Cottbuss region (hence Kottbusser) where the Reinheitsgebot was not immediately enforced. Brewed with Pilsner and wheat malt and German noble hops Tettnang and Hallertau. What made this beer illegal was our addition of Oats, Honey and Molasses. The resulting ale is crisp, clean and complex.

Draft. Orange/apple and barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet lightly spiced orange/lemon and barley/oat malt flavor. Great blending. Delicious - a great summer beer.
