A well-defined hop flavor and aroma distinguish this classic beer. American-Style Pale Ales are among this country’s most distinctive brews; few beer drinkers can pass up the flowery, slightly dry yet full-bodied flavor of such popular brands as Anchor Liberty and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. To create our Quarrymen Pale Ale, we start with London ale yeast. Its slightly mineral character is countered by a larger proportion of hops than some popular American-style pale ales utilize. Pitching rate is also a factor in the final hop flavor and aroma. We use Schrier pale malt and crystal malt; and the hops are all Cascade with Nugget used for bittering. As ever, we do not filter the beer. The Quarrymen Pale Ale is a dry hopped beer with a lowered carbonation level, which seems to accent the hop flavor.

Light citrus and a little aftershave. Dark golden pour with good head and lacing. Easy drinking without no faults, but no real charm. Light bitter end. Can.

draft at Mad Anthony Oktobeerfest - Pours very cloudy light orange with a small off-white head. There’s a mild malt aroma with some light citrus hops. The flavor includes a decent hops bite with citrus and earthy tones and a lingering bitterness in the finish. Okay pale.

Draft. Medium amberish in color with a small head. Slight hoppiness in the nose- not strong, but it is pleasant. Flavor isn’t anything worth writing home about... slightly hoppy, but has a bland maltiness in there too.

This beer has come along way since its inception a few years back. It is now *good*! Really, this beer was basically nothing, but BBC has turned things around and many of their beers are on the right track. This is crisp, dry and bitter, with all the great hop flavor one could want. A nice round maltiness complements the hops.
