Jack The Bum is a character from Columbus folklore. He was a man who lived down by the river (he didn’t even have a van to live in.) Jack served as a volunteer life guard for Columbus children swimming near Mill Race Park, where the Flatrock and Driftwood rivers merge to form the East Fork of the White River.
Jack The Bum walks the line between Pale Ale and Amber Ale. We “bummed” the hops for this beer from Diesel Oil Stout. So both Jack and Diesel have the same hop bill. Go on, try them back to back!

Draft. Deep amber body with orange highlights, cloudy body. Frothy off-whtie head. The flavor has notes of caramel, bread, cereal and toast. The hop aroma is mostly grass, resin with some floral notes. A bit of earthiness. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. The finish is lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture turning creamy in the bitter finish. Lively carbonation. Distinct raw plant taste, grass and dried leafs. There is a pleasant bitterness, but overall less refined than the best APAs.
