Orange-brown, unfiltered. Thin white head. Funky sweet aroma, maybe some tweaked tropical fruit. In no way true to style, quite an odd concoction. Subtle black pepper and awkward fruit tones. This tastes like a decent homebrew. Rather malt centered, this doesn’t really work, even with the tweek.

On tap at brewery. Sweet caramel malt, pepper, barnyard funk. Clear amber with a small white head. Light malt, barnyard, and pepper flavor. Medium body, light carbonation.

Tap at brewery. Musty lemon, light pepper and caramel malt aroma. Clear amber color with small head. Slightly sweet caramel malt flavor with light lemon peel and pepper finish. Fuller body than average - very nice.

Draft. Deep amber body with a short, off-white head, rapidly diminishing. Yep, aroma of pepper and lemon grass. Also in the flavor. Notes of toasted malts, caramel and a hint of flowers. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture turning velvety in the finish, moderate carbonation. Sweet malts get overtaken by the pepper in the taste. Too sweet for a classic saison. Not as dry either. But a really tasty beer for 4.5%.
