Since the first bottle rolled off the production line of Seychelles Breweries Ltd in June 1972, SeyBrew Lager has been the favourite beer of Seychelles. SeyBrew is brewed with the finest malt and hops imported from Europe, Australia and South Africa. SeyBrew is available in 280ml green glass bottles and draught at 4.9% alcohol by volume, which makes it just perfect for quenching your thirst in the warm sunny Seychelles. SeyBrew is an all occasion beer but exceptionally inviting at the end of a day's work. Bottles are available cold at all liquor-licensed stores, whereas Draught is limited to some selective but popular bars. SeyBrew was awarded a Gold Medal in Brussels in 1974 - just two years after its launch. It topped 500 competing beers to scoop that first international award early acclaim which was consolidated by winning a Silver Medal in Geneva in 1978 and a Gold Medal in Amsterdam in 1981.

Shared 280 ml green bottle. Pale golden colour, low white head. Moderate citrussy / catty aroma, some wet cardboard in the background. The flavour is fairly fresh with a hint of citrus, no doubt drinkable on a beach in the Seychelles, but not interesting anywhere else.

0.28l bottle courtesy of InBreak. Hmm, a lager from the Seychelles? Could go either way this, so here we go: This one pours a clear golden body with a small slowly fading white lager-head. Aroma has pale malts, it's quite grainy with notes of really wet dog and all in all not very nice. Oily mouthfeeling, average carbonation and light to medium-bodied. Tastes first kinda blend, mild and watery, then it gets really malty in the finish and aftertaste. Drinkable, but not to exciting.

Bottled (thanks Bov!). Golden colour, mediumsized white fluffy head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is grainy with some malts and hops. Also some vegetably and eggy notes along with earth. Flavour is some malts mild hops as well as some maizeish notes. Biting carbonation.

Bottled 280ml (BB 04/2007)
Thanks to Sinikka and Aku Heikkinen of BeerHunters for bringing this from Seychelles! Pale yellow color, small steady white head. Slightly skunky, sweetish aroma (from sweetcorn or maize). Carbonated mouthfeel, papery malty flavor. Some harshness in the aftertaste. Typical tropical lager without much hops.

Pale yellow color. Strong paper-like aroma, poor. Dry, bitter; quite thirst-quenching in the beginning, but cloying later. Poor. Thanks Philippe (Bov) for this new country.

A yellow beer with a small white disappearing head. The aroma is malty with notes of straw and fish or is the fish part of my imagination because of the origin? The flavor is slightly sour combined with grassy hop notes, is it brewing cereal that gives it the sourness?

Pale golden. Light bodied with neutral aroma. Not much bitterness. Unexciting, except for it's origin.
