This is not retired, just had it at the source. Darker. Barely any smell. Brown like darker iced tea. Taste is quite mellow, fer sher, civilized none the less, pretty good impression. Perhaps a tad of tartness on the finish, welcomed. Yes, overall enjoyable irish brew.

Its nice to find more notes from a time I spent in Michigan.
I had this nice beer about two years ago and here’s my take on it.
I poured it into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice amber/brown color with about a finger and a half of a somewhat creamy to off-white sort of color coating the top of the glass.
The smell was somewhat malty and soapy. There really wasn’t much hops anywhere.
The taste was basically sweet but didn’t indicate much for a desirability. There was a slight soapy malty aftertaste with a quick dry finish.
On the palate, it sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionable aspect about it. The carbonation seemed okay for the style and for me as it was somewhat creamy and smooth.
Overall, its an Irish Red Ale, perhaps not a go to style for me, but it was nice to try. Would I have this again? Perhaps only with a steak as that’s the usual recommendation for Irish Reds.

bottle - Pours clear red with a one finger off-white head. It smells of caramel malt and tastes of sweet toasted caramel malt with a touch of bitterness. Overall it’s a drinkable but bland and underwhelming Irish red. Okay.

Bottle. Toffee malt and grass aroma. Hazy orange-brown color with large head. Sweet toffee malt and tangy/acidic grass flavor. Okay.

On tap at the brewery, Frankenmuth. Amber body, thin tight cream head. Slightly sweet nose with cereals and grassy hops. Sweet body with brown sugar, light caramel, grassy hops, and hints of diacetyl. Thin but not bad.
