Our hefe is made with 50% wheat malt and only pure German wheat yeast. This yeast which shows in the cloudiness in the beer also creates the delightful clove vanilla and banana aromas. Truly a unique beer, taste Bavaria through Thirsty Dog today. IBU=10, OG=12P, 5.2%ABV

Smells like a wheat beer, you know, spicey and all. Pours as a pale lager but then it gets some of the gunk off the bottom to yield a swirling hypnotizing drink. No head. Tes, wheaty on the first swig but then some of those ale attributes come thru that certainly separates this brew from a hefe or a wit beer. It claims to be a hefe on the label but I think not. Goodly amount of carbonation. Not a whole lotta bitterness but certainly has personality. Not bad for a wheat ale, seems to be a little more refined than most. Finish is mild medium bitter linger.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a refrigerated weizen glass. Pours a cloudy golden with small white head that dissapates quickly. Some lacing and good carbonation. Aroma is clove and wheat. Taste is clove and wheat, some sourness. There are much better hefes out there.

On draught at Winking Lizard. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium off-white head that has a lot of large bubbles and recedes quickly to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Tart fruit and grassy hops in the nose. Medium body with flavors of sour fruit, wheat and malt. The finish is fruity with a banana and wheat aftertaste. Average overall.
