Known as "Three Threads" or "Entire". Porter became England's first national beer in 1722. It was called porter because of its popularity with that group of laborers. Bitter Root Brewing brews this rich dark ale with a hint of peat-smoked malt as a salute to English brewers long forgotten.

Thanks to decaturstevo for sharing this one at the April Get Together. Clear dark brown pour with a tan head. Chocolate and roast malt aroma and flavor. I’d have to have a bit more chewiness to rate this higher. Thin.

Bottle: Pours a very dark brown with two fingers of tanned head. Aroma is typical of a porter, nice roasted malts and some coffee tones. Taste is stronger of coffee, bittersweetness, roasted malt, and a little smokey. Thinner than I like in a porter, almost seemed a bit watered down. Good flavor, just a bit thin.
