Bottle from a trade with UDBeernut. Pours reddish purple color with thin light pink head. Aroma of sour berries. Sour fruit flavor with some oak. Faint blueberry flavor, I was hoping for a stronger blueberry presence. Light to medium body with average carbonation. Thanks Art!

Batch 2012 Aroma is fairly sweet with some blueberries and light funk. There is a touch of a plastic phenolic character present. The blueberry has a bit of an artificial character. Low barrel character with a bit of alcohol spice. Pours a fairly clear red color with hint of a darker purple hue. Thin light pink head that recedes fairly quickly. Flavor starts fairly sweet with a jammy berry character. That recedes as the moderately strong acidity kicks in. The acidity brings in a moderate phenolic character. Light bitterness with a lingering acidity. The finish is acidic with a light fruitiness and funk. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Light acidic astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall a nice beer but the blueberries taste a bit artificial with the plastic phenolic notes. The sweetness is a bit strong too and it could use a more complex funk character.

750mL bottle shared at a tasting. Of course, the beer pours beautifully with a thick dark blue color and a fizzy purple head. The beer is generally a very natural blueberry flavor and aroma. In the taste its a very jammy blueberry. Very bright flavor surrounded by acetic touches and sourness. The acetic is balanced by a strong carbonation that tickles the cheeks. Really enjoyed this beer, haven’t had a Cascade in a while and they seem to be doing a very good job.

Tap at Cascade Barrel House PDX, @ 7.66% ABV, 22/05/13. Clear cherry red with a thin white head. Nose is tarte berry fruits, wood notes, light balsams. Taste comprises sour berry fruit, light sugars, funky, oaky notes, tarte blueberry. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, sour tarte finish, lightly puckering. Decent but blueberry is never my favourite fruit in a beer, whatever the style.

Sample at the Barrel House. Cloudy ruby-brown pour with a medium thin fizzy pinkish-white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of berries and yeast. Medium body with a midly funky undertone and flavors of blueberries, earthy yeast and citrus. The finish is fruity with a mildly tart blueberry aftertaste. Solid all around.

Bottle courtesy of Travlr @ Post Toer de Geuze tasting.

Cloudy nice ruby red to pinkish purple beer, big aery pink head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of fruit, very funky, actually not so pleasant. Lemony, orange flavoured vitamin effervescent tablets, pretty bad. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Tasty: same orange flavoured vitamin tablets, lemony, orange peel, very sour. Aftertaste: bitter as well, sour, dry, tannins, lemony. Not a big fan of this.

Courtesey of Travlr. 2012 Vintage. 75 cl. bottle sampled. Pours a dark fox raspberry colour, quickly fading pinkish head. Tart, lightly lactic blueberries, lightly lactic, tart, fruity, strong spices, almost Christmas wine touch,… Lightly lactic tart blueberries, spices, funky, light sour, finish is bitter, blueberry top, light wine, tart, sour tartness, light yeast,… Fluffy carbonation. Tartness states in the back of your mouth. Not bad at all.

From the April 2013 3R6P beer tasting. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml corked brown bottle this beer poured a very dark plum-blood red color with a medium sized foamy pink head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was funky, tart, sour, vague berries, pepper and Sweettart candies. the flavor was dry, tart and sour with funk, chalk and strong tart berries. Very long dry, tart and sour berry and funk finish. Medium body. Interesting.
