Old Peculier is a beautiful, yet very simple beer, brewed using a very generous blend of finest pale, crystal and roasted barley with two bitter hops combined with the majestic and noble ‘Fuggle’ hop to produce a beer of awesome full-bodied flavour with subtle cherry and rich fruit overtones. It tastes superb when accompanied by rich stews, strong cheeses and sweet puddings.

Pint on tap at Pig and Whistle, Brisbane. Not cask of course. Ruby red/brown beer with a thin white head that dissipates. Smoked caramel nose. Slight zing, taste of liquorice, touch of treacle. Seems to be highly carbonated. Bitter hop finish. Just ordinary, I think it's served too cold and overgassed.

Can at Cat&Barrell. Pours clear dark cola brown with large off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toffee, nuts and brown sugar. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Body is watery with light carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes of malt, caramel, toffee, nuts, brown sugar and hints of cinnamon.

On tap (not cask) at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours dark copper with off-white. Aroma of caramel, dark dried fruits, dark bread, some hoppy notes. Tastes slightly sweet with balancing bitterness and some fruity sourness. Thin to medium bodied. Nice beer.
